After four years of growth, consumption of spray guns and similar appliances decreased by -18.2% to 4.3M units in 2024. Overall, consumption, however, posted a buoyant expansion. Over the period under review, consumption reached the peak volume at 5.2M units in 2023, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

Moreover, spray guns and similar appliances consumption in the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest consumer, Saudi Arabia (737K units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Qatar (347K units), with an 8.1% share.
From 2013 to 2024, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume in the United Arab Emirates stood at +6.0%. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Saudi Arabia (+1.0% per year) and Qatar (+25.3% per year).
In value terms, the largest spray guns and similar appliances markets in GCC were the United Arab Emirates ($42M), Saudi Arabia ($21M) and Qatar ($17M), together accounting for 93% of the total market.
Among the main consuming countries, Qatar, with a CAGR of +26.5%, saw the highest growth rate of market size over the period under review, while market for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2024, production of spray guns and similar appliances decreased by -6.7% to 181K units, falling for the second consecutive year after four years of growth. Overall, production, however, showed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 206% against the previous year. Over the period under review, production attained the maximum volume at 211K units in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, production failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, spray guns and similar appliances production shrank to $12M in 2024 estimated in export price. Over the period under review, production, however, continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 228% against the previous year. The level of production peaked at $15M in 2021; however, from 2022 to 2024, production remained at a lower figure.
Kuwait (181K units) constituted the country with the largest volume of spray guns and similar appliances production, accounting for 99.9% of total volume.

After four years of growth, overseas purchases of spray guns and similar appliances decreased by -18.4% to 4.1M units in 2024. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 83% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at 5.1M units in 2023, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, spray guns and similar appliances imports contracted to $48M in 2024. Total imports indicated a temperate increase from 2013 to 2024: its value increased at an average annual rate of +2.0% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, imports increased by +58.7% against 2020 indices. Saudi Arabia (741K units) held an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Qatar (8.4%). Oman (105K units), Bahrain (83K units) and Kuwait (68K units) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Imports into the United Arab Emirates increased at an average annual rate of +5.9% from 2013 to 2024. At the same time, Qatar (+25.3%), Oman (+7.4%) and Kuwait (+2.0%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Qatar emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in GCC, with a CAGR of +25.3% from 2013-2024. Saudi Arabia and Bahrain experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Qatar (+7.2 p.p.) and the United Arab Emirates (+4.9 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2013-2024, the share of Bahrain (-1.8 p.p.) and Saudi Arabia (-10.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, the largest spray guns and similar appliances importing markets in GCC were the United Arab Emirates ($23M), Saudi Arabia ($15M) and Kuwait ($3.3M), with a combined 87% share of total imports. Bahrain, Qatar and Oman lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.
Among the main importing countries, Bahrain, with a CAGR of +8.1%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In 2024, the import price in GCC amounted to $12 per unit, surging by 21% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 173%. Over the period under review, import prices attained the maximum at $55 per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($48 per unit), while Qatar ($6.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2020 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, spray guns and similar appliances exports expanded notably to $2.7M in 2024. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 118% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $8.1M. From 2020 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
The United Arab Emirates represented the largest exporting country with an export of around 25K units, which finished at 60% of total exports. Oman (10K units) held the second position in the ranking, distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (4.2K units) and Bahrain (2.3K units). All these countries together held approx. 40% share of total exports.
From 2013 to 2024, average annual rates of growth with regard to spray guns and similar appliances exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at -1.8%. At the same time, Oman (+13.9%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of +13.9% from 2013-2024. By contrast, Saudi Arabia (-2.8%) and Bahrain (-21.4%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($2.1M) remains the largest spray guns and similar appliances supplier in GCC, comprising 75% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Oman ($370K), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Saudi Arabia, with a 9.2% share.
In the United Arab Emirates, spray guns and similar appliances exports shrank by an average annual rate of -5.4% over the period from 2013-2024. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Oman (+8.1% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+1.4% per year).
In 2024, the export price in GCC amounted to $66 per unit, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the export price increased by 27% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $96 per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($83 per unit), while Bahrain ($25 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
